The Program

40 Days of Photography Training, 40 Days of Knowing your Purpose

All our classes coincide with a run of the Purpose Driven Life program tweaked in the perspective of a photographer.

Week 1: Basic Photography – We start off the week by teaching you the basics. The difference between our program is that we focus more on the essential things that you need to shoot. This study on the fundamentals prepares you for more advanced learning and enables you to understand how the camera’s way of capturing is different from how your eye captures images.

Week 2: Composition & Posing – What differentiates a snapshot from a creative shot? We will teach you how the elements in your picture & perspective affect your over-all picture. After that we will tackle on an aspect of photography that most people dread, we will teach you creative ways of posing and effective ways to communicate it to your subject.

Week 3: Out door Photography – this aspect of photography is very unpredictable because it is beyond your control. In this class, we teach you how to shoot great pictures not only when lighting is good but even when lighting is really bad. What equipment do you need to be ready for anything? We’ll teach you how to properly shoot with the light or against it.

Week 4: Studio Lighting – We teach you the differences between light modifiers, how to light up a background and use of props. To make sure that you get enough experience, during the course of your training, the studio is available for your use for a minimal fee. We just have 3 rules – no nudes or sexy shooting, you clean up after using and you pay for the time slot you blocked.

Week 5: Landscape & Photojournalism – ready your walking shoes because in this session we will be going out and learning about how to capture landscapes and cityscapes using our tripods and filters, and also how to effectively capture moments that tell a story.

Week 6: Shoot-out – a day of testing the theories that you’ve learned the past weeks. We’re getting models that you can actually pose and subject to your very own lighting set-up. Your mentors will be with you and available for consultation this whole day. Place will be agreed upon by the class on day 1. Expense and transportation for the shoot is not included in the Tuition fee.

Week 7: Graduation Party – Our way of closing classes ends with a party. Everyone brings a printout of their best work according to our theme. Judges will be invited. A night of fellowship & chatting about our passion. Plus a 1 hour seminar on “The business of photography, what’s next?”
